Service Description

This Class is for those who have completed the learning goals up to chapter 19 of the Genki II textbook. We will be covering chapters 20, 21, and 22 in this course! Classes will take place on Sundays and Thursdays at 6pm Mountain Time. Ritomo will teach the Sunday class, and Mandy will teach the Thursday class. Classes will be recorded and posted after each class, so those who missed class can catch up afterwards. Students are expected to complete reading and writing homework between classes. Feedback will be given on all submitted homework. Learning goals: Our plan is to complete chapters 20, 21, and 22 of the textbook, but we may jump into a rabbit hole here and there along the way. Chapter 20 - Kenjougo (Extra modest expressions) - ないで (Without) - questions within sentences - NounというItem (A thing called "___") - Vstemやすい・にくい (easy or hard to do) Chapter 21 - Passive voice - てある (Something that has been done on purpose) - 〜間に ("While") - Adverb＋する - 〜てほしい (want someone to do....) Chapter 22 - Causative form (To "make" or "let" someone do something) - Vstem＋なさい ("Mom" voice) -　〜ば form ("If") - のに ("even though") -のように・のような (Yet another "like") If we as a class want to jump into a topic of interest, like dissecting transcripts of Keigo interactions, or reading some native Japanese content, that's totally okay!
