Japanese: Level 5

Service Description

Please ensure that this is the right level for you. If you have completed levels 1-4 or already know the content of levels 1-4, then this is the class for you! Classes will take place on Zoom twice a week on Sundays and Thursdays at 7pm Mountain Time. Sundays will be taught by Ritomo, Thursdays will be taught by Mandy. There will be 24 classes in total. Classes are recorded and then posted on our google classroom. This way, students who miss a class, can catch up by watching the recording. This class will cover chapters 12, 13, and 14 of the Genki text series. Students are expected to hand in assignments between classes, as well as spend time memorizing vocabulary and Kanji. Topics we will cover: - んです for adding emotion - 〜すぎる ("Too Much") - Verbた方がいい (You should ...) - ので (Because) - 〜なければなりません ("Must") - でしょう (for predictions) - Kanji/Story - Potential Form - 〜し (for listing reasons) - 〜そう (looks like) - 〜てみる - なら (if) - "How many times a week do you...?" - ほしい (want) - 〜かもしれない (maybe) - あげる・くれる・もらう (giving and getting) - たらどうですか (Why don't you try....?) - も・しか - More Kanji, More stories! Materials will be provided. This group also has a weekly study session going where members get together to do homework together/read stories etc.
