Japanese: Level 10
12 Week Online Japanese Course
Service Description
Level 10 is all about reinforcing what you already know, and feeling comfortable spontaneously using Japanese! This course is for students who have completed Genki I and Genki II books! Lessons will take place on Zoom on Mondays and Fridays at 6pm Mountain Time. Ritomo will teach on Mondays and Mandy will teach on Fridays. The structure of this course will be a little different from our other courses. Our goal is to USE Japanese while we do various activities. The class will be able to voice which activities/projects seem the most interesting to work on. Here are some ideas for things we can do! - Begin each class with a little "show and tell" in Japanese. With a different person showing each class. - Cook together in Japanese (find a recipe together, study the new vocabulary, do shadowing of the teacher explaining instructions while we cook!) - Study a transcript of a short snippet of a show/YouTube video/prank show - Play games together in Japanese (Like Ito game/taboo/word wolf/among us/overcooked) - Presentations (of animals you think you could beat in a fight... or something) - Debate - Read! (Manga/Short Trivia Excerpts/NHK easy) - Role Play (Store situations/Doctor situations.. whatever) Students should be ready to take notes about words or grammar that come up in class, and to spend time memorizing, reviewing, or preparing for projects, whatever they may be! This class is meant to bridge the gap between Genki and Quartet textbooks, while working on fluency skills, which is what we're really here for!
